Against swimmers from the United States is charged

The police Rio de Janeiro charged Ryan Locht and James Feigen, two swimmers from the US Olympic team. This was reported by TASS with reference to the air of the local Globo television channel.

Swimmers are suspected of false reports of a crime. They face a prison for a period of one to six months, as well as a fine. Under local laws, the court will make a decision on the charges.

Lochte and Feigen told the police about the robbery. They said that their taxi stopped several armed people who called the police, demanded to get out of the car and took all the money. Both athletes claimed that they were drunk and could not remember the details, up to the name of the taxi and the time of the crime.

However, the police found that Lokhte, Feigen, as well as Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz stopped at a gas station in the suburbs of Rio and, trying to enter the toilet, broke the door, for which they gave the money to the refueling manager.

The Rio police decided to detain swimmers, but Lokhte managed to return to the United States. Where Feigen is located is not reported. And Kongra and Benttsa were removed from the flight on the evening of August 17, but later they released home, since they did not give any testimony.
