Wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulayev brought Russia its 15th Olympic gold

Russian Abdulrashid Sadulaev won the final of the Olympic tournament in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 86 kilograms of Turk Selim Yashar and won the gold of the 2016 Games. For the Russian team, it was the 15th in the tournament and the 50th medal in general.

The duel between Sadulayev and Yashar ended with the score 5:0.

In the semi-finals, Sadulaev defeated the Azerbaijani wrestler Sharif Sharifov, in the ¼ finals - the Venezuelan Pedro Francisco Ceballos Fuentes, and in the 1/8 finals - the Hungarian Istvan Vereb.

• Before Sadulaev's gold, Russia had no medals of the highest standard in freestyle wrestling. Roman Vlasov and Davit Chekvetadze won gold in Greco-Roman wrestling.
