1991 Tricolor - flag of Russia

25 years ago, on August 22, 1991, the tricolor white-blue-red flag, under which the defenders of the White House fought the putschists, became the state flag of Russia. The resolution of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR determined: "Until a special law establishes a new state symbolism of the Russian Federation, consider the historical flag of Russia - a panel of equal horizontal white, azure and scarlet stripes - the official National flag of the Russian Federation."
