Pro-Ukrainian activist summoned for questioning by the Crimean prosecutor's office

Pro-Ukrainian activist Mikhail Batrak was summoned to the Crimean prosecutor's office on August 24. This is reported by the publication "Events in Crimea" with reference to a representative of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Crimea, of which Batrak is also a member.

“He was handed an order to prevent separatist actions during the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine, and also explained that it was impossible to violate the Russian Constitution. Prosecutors also asked why he had not yet received a passport of a Russian citizen.”

A similar warning was received by another activist of the Ukrainian Cultural Center, Leonid Kuzmin, who had previously been repeatedly persecuted for pro-Ukrainian actions on the peninsula.

In February, Mikhail Batrak was detained at the Chongar checkpoint in Crimea with two activists from the centre.
