
Russia will stop financing the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA). This is stated at the disposal of the government, published on the official portal of disclosure of legal information.
Earlier, the representative of the Ministry of Finance told RIA Novosti that Russia's contributions to WADA in 2015 exceeded $ 1 million. As he explained, the membership fee of Russia for the last year amounted to more than $ 745 thousand, and the annual additional - $ 300 thousand. Payments were made by the Ministry of Sports on the basis of the relevant decisions of the Cabinet.
On August 18, the Russian Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko said that Russia may stop paying WADA contributions if the Russian anti -doping agency (Rusada) will not be restored in rights.
In November 2015, WADA suspected Rusada to destroy the results of doping tests. According to the agency’s report, the laboratory destroyed doping samples after the 2012 Olympics in London according to the orders of the Ministry of Sports and the FSB, as well as for bribes that the athletes themselves gave.
On November 19, 2015, WADA recognized Rusad to the inappropriate organization of the organization.
