The judge of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow Albert Trishkin sentenced the ex-leader of the ethnopolitical association "Russian" Alexander Belov (Potkin) to seven and a half years in prison in a colony of general regime and a fine of 600 thousand rubles. This was reported by the correspondent of "faces".
“Recognize Potkin guilty and impose a sentence of imprisonment for a period of 7 years and 6 months with serving in a colony of general regime,” the judge announced the decision. In addition, the court fully satisfied the civil lawsuit against Potkin of BTA-Bank representatives in the amount of 4.9 billion rubles.
"The use of secret witnesses is becoming a generally accepted practice, and not one, but all the main ones. In fact, things are already, as in the thirties, are built exclusively on the denunciations of unknown persons. We will protest the verdict, based primarily on the fact that the court completely neglected the defense arguments, the testimony of witnesses of protection. And everything that was considered in the process on the initiative of the prosecution, says only about Innocent, ”said the lawyer of the political prisoner Ivan Mironov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the judge removed Dmitry Demushkin from the room of his ally Potkin for spreading a few words with the defendant.

On August 15, during the debate of the parties, the state prosecution requested 9 years of a general regime colony for Potkin . In the final version of the prosecution, Potkin was charged with four articles of the Criminal Code . Article 174 (the legalization of property acquired by other persons illegally) was imputed by Politzek, since it is allegedly involved in the laundering of $ 5 billion, stolen from BTA Bank depositors, the former owner of Mukhtar Ablyazov. The remaining three articles to Potkin were charged with the fact that he allegedly formed a community, which set the task of overthrowing the Nursultan Nazarbayev regime in Kazakhstan. The community, the charge claims, included citizens of both Kazakhstan and Russia. These episodes of the case are qualified under Articles 282 (arousal of hatred or enmity on the basis of nationality), 282.1 (organization of an extremist community) and 280 (public calls for extremism).
Potkin was detained on October 15, 2014. Initially, only the 174th article of the Criminal Code was charged with him. On October 17, politics was sent under house arrest, but on the 23rd, the preventive measure was changed to a pre-trial detention center. In December 2014, the arrested was placed in the pre-trial detention center-1 of the central headquarters of the FSIN, also known as a special investigative insulator No. 1. In March 2015, Potkin passed a stationary psychiatric examination in the center named after Serbian. Doctors recognized the political prisoner completely sane.
Potkin himself stated that he was arrested after he refused to participate in the action against Igor Kolomoisky - the Ukrainian oligarch and the then governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region. “It was about the organization of liquidation, murder or lobbying of arrest in France Igor Kolomoisky,” the political prisoner said. “Apparently, realizing that I would not participate in such projects, I was decided to sacrifice me to Nazarbayev.”
