Truckers who were on their way to help Kuban tractor drivers were detained in Voronezh

In Voronezh, on August 24, truckers were detained on their way to the Rostov region to help protesting Kuban farmers. This is reported by Novaya Gazeta.

At about 12 noon, a group of truckers was stopped by the police for the seventh check in the last two days. After checking the documents, the traffic police officers said that the auto insurance policies of the OSAGO truckers Andrey Bazhutin and Nadezhda Kurazhkovskaya "did not make their way through the base", they were forced to proceed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Novousmansky district for an inquiry. At the same time, Novaya Gazeta notes, during a night check (22.30 Moscow time) at 51 kilometers of the Don federal highway, traffic police officers of the Moscow Region confirmed the validity of these policies.

All day long, a group of truckers was followed by several cars with Voronezh license plates, including a gray VAZ-2110 car, from the windows of which operational officers in plain clothes recorded the cars participating in the rally and their numbers on video cameras. “These same people filmed during the entire inspection at the traffic police post in the Novaya Usman region,” the newspaper notes.

Officers in civilian clothes approached the truckers, who were waiting for their colleagues from the inquiry, at about 15.00 and demanded that they all go to the department voluntarily, without drawing up a protocol.

“One of the employees, who introduced himself as Evgeny, first suggested that the truckers go to the department “for the sake of the safety of the cars”, when they refused, he shouted: “Are you going to set your conditions? Then I call the outfit - we will deliver you in handcuffs. After that, he got into the car, slammed the door and drove away, ”Novaya writes.

A few minutes later, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Voronezh Region, Dmitry Nikolaevich Zanin, began to draw up a protocol (under article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for two more truckers because of a leaflet with a quote from Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev “There is no money, but you hold on,” posted on one of cars.

Five cars are participating in this run, including one large truck, one minibus and three cars. On their sides are the emblems of the Association of Carriers of Russia (OPR) and leaflets with the above quote from Medvedev.
