110 years ago, on August 25, 1906, in St. Petersburg an attempt was made on the chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Russian Empire Peter Stolypin. The terrorists from the group of Socialist-Revolutionaries-Maximalists came to his house on the pharmacist island in the gendarme uniform, supposedly in an urgent case. Adjutant of the Prime Minister General Alexander Zamyatnin noticed an old -style helmet on them and raised the alarm. Realizing that they were exposed, the terrorists immediately put into effect explosive devices hidden in portfolios with shouts: “Long live freedom!”, “Long live the Russian people!”.

30 people were killed, including Zamyatnin, as well as three terrorists - Ilya Zabebshansky, Ivan Tipunkov and Nikita Ivanov. Several dozen people were injured, including Stolypin’s children - Arkady and Natalia. Peter Arkadievich himself was not injured.
