The head of Ingushetia gave an apartment and a car to a Turkish Olympic

The head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov awarded the fighter Zelimkhan Kodvyan, who won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro under the flag of Turkey.

"The head of the republic, during a meeting with athletes, handed the keys to new apartments in Magas and Toyota Camry vehicles to the native of Ingushetia, who played for Turkey, Zelimkhan Kartoev and his personal coach Adam Barakhoev," the regional government press service told Interfax .

A native of Ingushetia Kartoev, who played at the Olympics in Brazil for Turkey under the name Selim Yashar, lost in the final fight of the weight category up to 86 kg of a 20-year-old athlete from Dagestan, representing Russia, Abdulrashid Sadulaev.

"The Olympic champion and silver medalist of the Olympiad from Ingushetia, brought up by Russian coaches, is a great achievement. This is a great incentive for young people, they have something to strive for," said the head of the region.

Zelimkhan Kartuev was born in Ingushetia and changed sports citizenship to Turkish in 2013.
