The court arrested three participants in the “tractor march”

On the night of August 24-25, the Aksai District Court of the Rostov Region examined the administrative cases of all twelve detained participants in the “tractor march.” The meetings continued until 4.00. Three were sentenced to administrative arrest for ten days, the rest were fined, the Caucasian Knot reports .

Three participants in the tractor march - Oleg Petrov, Nikolai Maslov and Sergei Vladimirov - were sentenced to administrative arrest. The leader of the Polite Farmers movement, Alexey Volchenko, was sentenced to a fine of 30 thousand rubles, and eight more people were sentenced to fines of 10 thousand rubles each. The fined activists were released, said Olga Golubyatnikova, a member of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC) of the Krasnodar Territory.

According to administrative protocols, the participants of the action “took part in the form of a rally organized on the territory of the Stagecoach cafe at 17.35 on August 23, 2016, then the unauthorized rally was suppressed by police officers,” thereby violating Part 6.1 of Art. 20.2 of the Administrative Code, writes the publication. Having studied the notification of the governors of the Rostov region and the Krasnodar region about the action, the court declared the farmers’ action illegal, since it was not agreed upon with the authorities of the Aksai region.

“In fact, if the governor had fulfilled his task - he warned the district leaders that the action would be held, we would not have had any violations,” the Caucasian Knot quotes Golubyatnikova as saying. She said that the farmers “consider it a betrayal” that immediately after the meeting with the presidential envoy they were told that they were holding an illegal rally.
