
In Chicago, at the 95th year of life, the last of the heroes of the Soviet Union Stepan Borozenets died in the United States, RIA Novosti reports.
Such information with the agency shared in the associations of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and veterans of the airborne troops of the countries of the former USSR living in the USA and Canada.
As specified in the organization, the pilot remained a citizen of Russia. Recently, Stepan Borozenets lived in a nursing home. His funeral will take place in Chicago on Tuesday.
Stepan Borozonets was born on August 22, 1922 in Kazakhstan. During the Great Patriotic War, he was a pilot-player. In 1945 he received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. After the war, he continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the USSR. He taught at the Kharkov Military Aviation School after resignation. In 1995 he left for Chicago for treatment and remained to live there.
