In the course of the second for the current month of the deposit auction, the Bank of Russia attracted 220.8 billion rubles of excess liquidity at 10.41% per annum (with the set 280 billion rubles), the Central Bank of the Russian Federation said .
The auction participated in 76 banks from 35 Russian regions, according to the rules they could offer their funds for placing a maximum of 10.5% per annum.
Compared to the previous auction, which was carried out by the Central Bank at the beginning of the month, there was a noticeable increase in the number of participants (then 62 were gained). This, according to experts surveyed by RBC , indicates an excess of liquidity in more banks.
In particular, the analyst of Raiffeisenbank Stanislav Murashov believes that the situation with the past auction demonstrates the spread of the liquidity surplus outside the upper thirty of the largest banks in Russia.
At the same time, experts do not believe that we are talking about a general trend towards liquidity surplus in the country: in their opinion, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation “pointily withdraws excess funds due to the flow of liquidity on the budget channel” (we are talking about tax payments, the period of receipt of which ended this week).
