
The artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theater Valery Fokin is working on the performance dedicated to the young years of Joseph Stalin.
Fokin said this at the collection of the troupe of the Alexandrinsky Theater, dedicated to the opening of the season and the 260th anniversary of the state theater policy in Russia, Fontanka.ru reports.
“There is an idea to analyze a person and understand how he came to such a life. Understand the time until the 17th year, there was a lot of phenomenal, ”Fokina quoted TASS .
During the preparation of the material, the artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theater added, he learned that in Tbilisi there is a book by Dostoevsky “Demons” with the notes of Stalin, “which in itself could become the plot of the work.”
Fokin also noted that the 100th anniversary of the 1917 revolution is too significant a date for the history of the country so that the Alexander Theater could bypass it. Among the performances associated with this event, the “optimistic tragedy” of Vsevolod Vishnevsky, which will be staged on the historical stage of Alexandrinka, the artistic director of the Meyerhold Center, as well as the performance on the novel by Arkady Gaidar “Chuk and Hack” on the new stage in the production of the young director Mikhail Patlasov.
