The Pentagon called Russia's statement about the death of an ISIS terrorist as a result of a Su-34 strike a joke

The Pentagon refuted the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense that one of the leaders of the "Islamic State" (an organization recognized as terrorist in Russia and banned) Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was killed as a result of a strike by Russian aircraft.

"The Russian statement is a joke," an unnamed US official told Reuters.

• The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially announced on August 31 that Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was killed in an air strike by Russian Su-34 aircraft on targets in the Syrian province of Aleppo. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, about 40 more militants were killed during the raid.
