Rafael will be brought to Moscow for 500 million euros

About 500 million euros will be the cost of Raphael Santi's works from the collections of Italy museums, which will be shown in Moscow at the exhibition at the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin (Pushrooms).

It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Italy ambassador to Russia Cesar Ragalini. He clarified that eight works of painting and three drawings from various galleries and museums of Italy, including the UFFION Gallery in Bologna, would be brought to Moscow.

“One of the main works will be the artist’s self-portrait, Rafael’s peculiar visiting card in the world,” added Ragalini, emphasizing that the exhibition in the PHM will become one of the most significant cultural events that the Italian embassy had ever held in Moscow.

“In addition, such an exhibition will be difficult to organize for the next five years anywhere else in the world, because in 2020 there are five hundred years from the date of the death of Rafael, and not a single museum will be able to get paintings for its exhibitions,” the ambassador said.

Exhibition "Rafael. Poetry of the image. Works from the Uffizi Galleys and other collections of Italy ” will be held in the Pushkin Museum from September 13 to December 11.
