The Public Chamber turned to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Maxim Topilin with a request to introduce 15-minute gymnastics at work. As TASS reports , this is stated in a letter to the first deputy chairman of the Commission of the OP for Public Security Dmitry Chugunov. The sites for testing the initiative are proposed to make state institutions.
“I ask you to consider the possibility of introducing the practice of industrial gymnastics in labor collectives during a working day. Let it be about 15-20 minutes a day, which can be combined with listening to the anthem, music or any commanding practices at the discretion of the employer,” the letter says.
The social activist justifies his initiative to statistics from the Ministry of Health: according to the agency in 2015, about a million people died from diseases of the cardiovascular system.
"The doctors call one of the most common causes of cardiovascular diseases, disorders in the development and functioning of the musculoskeletal system, the doctors call a sedentary lifestyle, the lack of a habit of any sports activity to maintain a normal physical form," the Chugunov letter said.
In his opinion, in the case of a positive assessment of the proposal, state enterprises can become institutions for testing production exercises. "In turn, to private structures that do not pay sufficient attention to the physical health of employees, it is possible to officially recommend such a practice in the future," Chugunov believes.
In October 2011, Dmitry Medvedev, who then held the post of president, called on Russians actively playing badminton. In the video posted on his blog, Medvedev spoke about the history of the game, its popularity and what qualities it develops. "This game develops physical form, develops the eye, accuracy, reaction. It simply helps to solve a variety of problems in life. He who plays well in badminton quickly makes decisions," Medvedev said.
