Relatives of the Avetisyan family from the Armenian city of Gyumri, for the murder of which the Russian soldier Valery Permyakov was sentenced to life imprisonment, said that the convict could not commit a crime alone. This was reported on Wednesday by News.am.
One of the relatives of the dead, Lusine Avetisyan, noticed that Permyakov could not give a satisfactory answer to the question about the motives of the murder. “Because it was not he who killed, but those who were with him,” she concluded.
The characteristic of Avetisyanov Arthur Koshtyan, in turn, said that neither Russia nor Armenia were interested in disclosing the crime. He substantiated his conclusion by the fact that the court did not achieve participation in the process of important witnesses from the Russian side.
According to Armenpress, the relatives of the victims after receiving a copy of the sentence Permyakov intend to appeal him - first in national courts, and then in the ECHR.
The relatives of Avetisyan from the very beginning expressed claims to the investigation, and then to the court in the case. In the debate of the parties, human rights activist Arthur Sakuntz, representing the interests of the family, also stated that for nine months of trial, the crime was not completely disclosed. He, in particular, noted that he did not believe in the version, according to which the soldier killed the Avetisyan family in order to steal 6 thousand dramas. Consequently, Sakuntz concluded, the motive of the crime was not established.
The sentence of the 20-year-old Permyakov issued a court of the Shirak region of Armenia on August 23 during a visiting meeting at the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri. The defendant was found guilty under paragraphs 1, 5, 8 of part 2 of Article 104 (the murder of two or more persons committed with special cruelty from selfish motives), paragraphs 3, 4 of Article 175 (robbery with illegal penetration and use of weapons) and part 2 of Article 34 - Article 329 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (an attempt to cross the state border).
Permyakov himself fully pleaded guilty. He refused to speak with the last word.
According to the plot of the case, on the night of January 12, 2015, Permyakov, having left the location of the 102nd base, came to the house of the Avetisyan family not familiar to him and shot five adults aged 24 to 55 years from Kalashnikov, and two children - two -year -old ASMIK and half -year Seryozha - struck the bayonet -knife. All victims died on the spot, except for a half -year -old baby. He was operated on, but on January 19, Seryozha died in the hospital.
On the night of January 13, Russian border guards detained Permyakov while trying to cross the Armenian-Turkish border. The Armenian side, including under the pressure of mass protests of local residents , demanded the issuance of Permyakov and the trial of it according to its own laws. Russia refused to give the suspect, referring to its constitution.
Nevertheless, on June 26, after the start of protests in Armenia against raising electricity tariffs, the country's president Serzh Sargsyan met with the Minister of Transport of Russia, co-chairman of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission, Maxim Sokolov, and agreed that the murder made by Permyakov will be transferred to the Armenian side . The transfer of materials took place on July 18.
At the same time, materials on desertion and theft of weapons were allocated from the case in a separate production and were considered by the Russian 5th garrison military court (Yerevan). On August 12, 2015, this court, during a visiting meeting at the 102nd base, sentenced Permyakov to 10 years of strict regime under Articles 338 (desertion with weapons), 226 (theft of weapons and ammunition) and 222 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal turnover of weapons and ammunition).
On May 27, 2016, the Avetisyan family successors filed a civil lawsuit in the amount of 450 thousand euros to Russia. As the lawyer Aramazd Kiviryan pointed out, before transferring to Armenia, Permyakov many times unauthorizedly left the unit. The lawyer also noted that, according to the examination, a person who had certain mental deviations was sent to the service abroad. In addition, the commanders of Permyakov, knowing about these problems, considered it possible to give him weapons. Finally, Kiviryan noticed that the Russian side told Armenian about the desertion of the soldier after a relatively large period of time after the discovery of the fact itself.
Lusine Avetisyan explained “Armenpress” that the purpose of filing a lawsuit is not to receive money, but Russia’s punishment, so that she “knows who to send to Armenia”. “We were offered help from the very first minute,” the relative of the dead remarked. “We refused, because the blood is not for sale.”
