The short story of Matveeva died

In the Moscow Region, in the 82nd year of life, the poet, bard, playwright and literary critic Novella Matveeva died. According to TASS, this was announced by the deputy chief editor of the Literary Newspaper Leonid Kolpakov.

“We just got a very sad news, Novella Nikolaevna Matveeva died. This happened yesterday at her cottage near Himmik,” Kolpakov said. There is no information about the place and time of the funeral yet.

From 1950 to 1957, Matveeva worked in the orphanage of the Schelkovo district of the Moscow region. In 1962 she graduated from the highest literary courses at the Literary Institute named after A. M. Gorky.

Matveeva wrote poetry from childhood, began to be published since 1958. The first collection was published in 1961. In 1961, Matveev was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR. In the 1970s, she published the books "Lastochkina School", "River" and others.

Since the late 1950s, Novella Nikolaevna began to compose songs on her own poems and perform them under her own accompaniment on the seven-string guitar.

In 1984, a play “Eshchi’s prediction” - a fantasy based on the works of Alexander Green, containing 33 songs, was staged at the Central Children's Theater in Moscow. In 1996, a book of memoirs "The ball remaining in the sky." In 1998, the novel Matveeva became the laureate of the Pushkin Prize in the field of poetry.

In the last years of her life, Matveeva worked on the translations of Shakespeare's sonnets.
