What happens in Beslan after the action of mothers and attacks on journalists. Reporting Ilya Azar

On September 1, 2016, Beslan’s mothers arranged a protest . This happened on the twelfth anniversary of the capture by terrorists of school No. 1 in the North Ossetian city. Five women, headed by the chairman of the Voice of Beslan, Ella Kesaeva entered the gym, where memorable events are traditionally held, and shot jackets under which the white T -shirts with the inscriptions “Putin - the executioner of Beslan” were taken. Women were detained with the use of force, and then sentenced to public work and a fine of 20 thousand rubles. The journalists Elena Kostyuchenko and Diana Khachatryan were also detained - they were soon released, but two days later people in the Anti -Terror T -shirt, dousing Kostyuchenko Zelenka. The special correspondent of Medusa, Ilya Azar, went to Beslan and found out how they were experiencing the incident of the protesters themselves, their opponents, local residents and representatives of the authorities.

"It seemed to seem to be a terrorist attack"

“We wanted to raise the topic of Beslan because they began to forget about him,” explains the meaning of the action that several women arranged on September 1 during a mourning event in the gym of school No. 1, one of its participants, Svetlana Margieva. In September 2004, terrorists held her along with her daughter in the same gym. “Putin strengthened his power by the blood of our children. My daughter died in her arms, but while she was alive, she said: “Putin will help us, mom?” And other children said so. We hoped for Putin, and he did not move a single hair to save children, ”says Margieva.

“Beslan was not recognized. The population thinks that the authorities showed itself in Beslan as a hero. We know that the president, who is the Supreme Commander -in -Chief, is to blame. He was never questioned, despite our statements. He is out of the law on Beslan, ”adds Ella Kesaeva. Her daughter Zarina left school alive - perhaps, therefore, Kesaeva has enough strength and energy to lead the public organization “Voice of Beslan”.

Women from the Voice of Beslan, with whom we meet at the house of Ella Kesaeva on September 4, are sure that the Russian security forces not only did nothing to prevent the attack on September 1, 2004 (reports about the upcoming capture of the hostages were ignored , and no one actually guarded the school), but they themselves are guilty of the deaths of children. The assault on the school began on the afternoon of September 3 after two explosions in the gym. According to the official version, bombs inside the building worked. However, many witnesses claim that in fact they shot from flamethrower at the building, and later at the school where the hostages were still, they shot from tanks.

“I sat there and saw with my own eyes how an explosive device flew out of the outside. We lay half an hour, and no one saved us. I told my child when coals poured on her: “Be patient. Now they will come, save.” Then we still got into the dining room, at which the tanks were already shooting, ”says Jeanne Kirikhov, a member of the Voice of Beslan, whose daughter died at school.

This version is also supported by Kesaev. “Before the assault with the [former President of Chechnya Aslan] Maskhadov, who was declared a criminal and was on the wanted list, was an agreement that he would come [to free the hostages]. But making him a lifeguard of Beslan children [for Putin] was unacceptable, ”she says indignantly. - From the roofs of five -story buildings, two flamethrowers hit the gym, where all the children were still alive. I myself heard the explosions and saw a characteristic smoke. Then they began to shoot tanks. This is a war crime, and he does not have a statute of limitations. ”

The investigations of the attack in Russia of the dead were never waited - the criminal case is not formally closed, but there are no signs of the investigation. “I thought that the state needs to know the truth, that the perpetrators would be punished. And then it became clear that nobody needs human life at all and Beslan’s children were exchanged for strengthening the power vertical ( immediately after the attack in Russia, for example, the elections of governors were canceled - approx. Medusa ), ”says Kesaeva.

Kesaeva and her sister Emma Betrozova, whose husband and two sons were killed in school No. 1 (she herself came out of there alive), had long been desperate to achieve an objective investigation in Russia. Eight years ago, on behalf of 447 applicants, women filed a lawsuit against the Strasbourg court. In 2012, they accepted the complaint in court, and in 2015- they recognized as acceptable.

Participants in the action reject its binding to the upcoming parliamentary elections (on the previous activists of the Voices of Beslan, they themselves worked as observers and recall the “carousel” for “United Russia”) - and indicate that the current performance was not the first. For example, in 2015, they tried to deploy a sheet with the same inscription about Putin-Palach. The sheet was instantly selected from them, the participants were detained - but released without charges an hour later. This year, the case ended with the court - it went late from September 1 to 2.

“Investigators told us that we are unscrupulous and disgrace Ossetia that they gave us money,” says Kesaeva.

“The fact that the police did with us, and then the court, is the same thing that was in the hall [in September 2004],” Margiev is getting excited. - We were kept so many hungry and cold hours. The terrorists also [acted], but they did not beat us, unlike our valiant police.

-Probably, terrorists are still worse?

“Of course, but they are called“ terrorists ”, and these are“ police officers ”. What did we do so that we are beaten? These law enforcement agencies do not protect our rights, but the rights of power. We have no rights. For me, Putin and Kulaev ( Nurpasha Kulaev is the only survivor after the assault and a convicted terrorist from a group who captured the Beslan school - approx. Medusa ) is the same thing.

Emma Bertozov says that at some point when she was surrounded by people in black with machine guns, she "suddenly began to seem to be a terrorist attack." “I rushed to school, and in my head it was [belief] that my children need to be saved.”

"I have to undress and run in shorts?"

The Voice of Beslan is not the only public organization of those who suffered from the attack and their relatives, and not even the largest. Kesaeva and her allies disappeared from another association, the “mother of Beslan”, back in September 2005, after the trip of several women to Grigory Grabovoy, who promised to return the dead children to life. The chairman of the Beslan Mother Committee Susanna Dudiev then seriously talked about the upcoming resurrection at a press conference.

Relations between two organizations are tense. "Mother Beslan", although quite softly, condemned the action "Putin - the executioner of Beslan." The Committee’s statement says that “so much grief and pain are concentrated in this miserable gym that you only want to cry, remember your children and ask for forgiveness from them.” In a personal conversation, the chairman of the committee Susanna Dudiev said that law enforcement agencies had to behave with the activists of the Voice of Beslan “more correctly” - but sharply condemned the protest action.

- This is a place of grief, and now blocking moans and pain with cries is mean. Any opinion can be expressed beyond the perimeter of this building without violating its aura. We do not agree that someone can, like Pussy Riot, put on a T-shirt and shout [slogans]. Still, they started dancing there! Before that, it remained a little. We are Caucasians, and we have some boundaries of decency.

- And if other methods do not help?

- So now, put on shirts on underwear and chant? We express our protest differently. What did they achieve their own?

- At least the reaction of the media.

- But what price! Tomorrow they will put on panties with some inscriptions and make even more shocking. This is wrong. This place belongs not only to these five women.

Unlike the Voice of Beslan, the activists of which are accused of Vladimir Putin and the Russian leadership directly of the murder of children, the “mothers of Beslan” believe that the authorities are mainly to blame for the seizure of hostages.

“We have been demanding an objective investigation for 12 years. We do this by legal methods, we meet with the leaders of structures, with deputies. We are slowly [moving], because water sharpens the stone. We are waiting for awareness of the president or deputy corps that we need to learn lessons and do work on mistakes, ”says Dudieva.

I clarify whether she agrees with the slogan, which was written on the chest of women from the Voice of Beslan. “You ask me such a provocative question. It is important that I have long been seen in Moscow [such] posters in public, and it was not invented by them ( the slogan was really used back in 2005 - approx. Medusa ), ”says Dudieva.

She recalls that Putin met with the "mothers of Beslan" (it was back in 2005) and said ) that "he does not relieve himself of responsibility for what happened in Beslan." “At the same time, he read a certificate where there was complete misinformation, and he promised that its authors would answer for it. This did not happen, but now I need to wear T -shirts and arrange orgies here? No, this does not give me the right to stir our memory and diminish the tragedy. These are methods convenient for someone, ”Dudiev continues to be indignant.

- To whom?

- Russian and foreign opposition organizations. Somewhere in Moscow, in America, in Europe, everyone was pleased. Many rubbed their hands and said: “Yeah! That's how he! " We also always say that the special services and power allowed this attack and must be punished.

- The Voice of Beslan says that the security forces shot at the building.

- This must be proved, you know? Even if it was proved by Saveliev ( Yuri Savelyev, a politician and a scientist who published a report in which he cites arguments in favor of the version that the explosions made the security forces - approx. Medusa ), there must be an official investigation. We demand it, but what I am now, should we undress and run in shorts? Inside myself, I am convinced [that] who is to blame, but in order to call them guilty, there must be the will of the head of the state, and we include him to call the guilty. I want to have an investigation. We will not wait for him - our children who were there will wait, and we will educate them so that they do not slander in the gym.

Dudiev does not at all support the criticism of the power organs from the Voice of Beslan. “It was the worst of all when Kesaev and her women stretched a poster two years ago:“ Alpha ”and“ pennant ” - the killers of our children,” she says. - For me it was worse than their current appeal to the president. This is blasphemy, and no one supports it. ”

According to representatives of the Voice of Beslan, Dudieva’s position is explained by the fact that “Beslan’s mothers” have something to lose, since they all work under the ministries. “Their lawyer bowed to the fact that the local security forces committed negligence. They do not argue that the tanks shot, but they only talk about negligence, ”says Bertozova. - Recently, I have a feeling that the “mother of Beslan” exist in order to say that we are wrong. When we sent documents to Strasbourg, they beat themselves in the chest and said that we needed to seek the truth in Russia, and then we ourselves [joined]. ”

However, one of the members of the Beslan Mother Committee, the Mia of Kokoita, who lost a 12-year-old daughter as a result of the attack, also put on a T-shirt with the words “Putin-the executioner of Beslan” (but in the end did not participate in the action). She explains that she did this to support Ella Kesaeva, but she herself cannot "just to say so that Putin is the executioner of Beslan." “I have claims not only to Putin. He probably does not know in such detail how we, this whole situation, says Kokoita. - He met with the Committee and pleaded guilty, although he did nothing. I guiltily think that I woke the child and sent to school that day. ”

"I am a business executive, so I don't know"

With Dudieva, we are talking on a bench near the gym of school No. 1, which was recently dressed in a golden sarcophagus. The chess player Anatoly Karpov, surrounded by local officials (he opened a chess school in a nearby legs and decided to call in Beslan). Seeing the delegation, Dudiev is interrupted in a half -word and rushes after it - to the gym. She is brought to Karpov with the words "this is Susanna, she correctly supports."

“We, within the framework of the law, achieve an objective investigation, but we cannot encourage, force ...” explains Dudiev to the official.

“Isn't it yet?” - clarifies Karpov.

- The investigation has already been going on for 147 months, but stands still. We need lessons to be made over errors. It cannot be that they captured school and there is no one guilty. Intelligence did not work, public security, the operational headquarters did not work as it should be minimized by losses.

- I heard that the bombs were laid during the repair [of the school building], - the chess player adheres to the official version.

- There are many versions, and if there was an investigation, it would be clear. Someone has patience and dignity to go in legal ways and achieve [decisions], and someone succumbs to all kinds of ...

- Provocations! - tells Karpov.

- Yes, but the investigation should be!

Karpov nods, hastily completes the conversation and, answering several questions of local journalists, leaves the gym right during the prayer service.

The Beslan officials, with whom I managed to communicate, also mainly spoke about the action of the Voice of Beslan as an “inappropriate provocation”. The mayor of the city, German Khautov, who was 18 years old in 2004, said that he was “painful” to look at what was happening: “This is not a place and not the time to hold such events, because people from Russia and from around the world arrive here to sympathize.” “This is unacceptable, wrong, and it should not be so,” the official added. “If there is discontent or something is wrong, there are norms of legislation, as well as official law enforcement, human rights and judicial authorities.” The very detention of women and bruises that remained with their interaction with police officers refused to comment - but regarding the investigation of the attack that "it was not familiar with this topic."

The acting head of the administration of local self -government of the right -bank district, whose capital is Beslan, Konstantin Berkaev, reacted in a similar way: “I am a business executive, so I am not in the know. I have no position on this issue. ” His deputy Vyacheslav Sikhotov also refused to comment on the detention of women (“I am not a lawyer”) and the course of the investigation (“I am not an investigator”), but noted that “some promotions, campaigning can be carried out before or after mourning, but not directly at mourning events”: “Moreover, if their children died there. This is all designed for correspondents, but they can be separately invited to your action at any other time. ”

The conversation with the deputy of the meeting of the right -bank district Lyudmila Plieva came out short: “I do not want to contact this rubbish Kesaeva, as well as talking about these events - and so it was bad with my heart last year.”

The Beslan police with Medusa refused to talk at all. Ella Kesaeva believes that people in civilian clothes, who took women from the gym, supervised the authorities of the local police. On September 6, it became known that a man who three days before attacked journalists Elena Kostyuchenko and Diana Khachatryan, dousing them with green, was fined under the article “Minor Hooliganism”. The man who, on the same day, September 3, hit Kostyuchenko in the face - the director of the cemetery "City of Angels", where the victims of the attack are buried - no one is in a hurry to punish; In any case, on September 5, he was in his workplace and did not repent in his actions at all.

- If you are sane, I explain to you: these were not women. These are the devils in female guise, these are werewolves! A woman cannot behave like that, ”said Director Kaspolat Ramonov. - Another day, in another place - no problems. But if the memory of my children get dirty ( the director also died at the school - approx. Medusa ) - ***** [I will commit an act of violence] of anyone. Putin will appear - he will be in his mouth. To me ***** [anyway] - Putin or who, I will not let anyone. These two rosmanders arrived, and in my house ***** they will hold their shares.

- They are journalists, they did not hold stocks.

- Do not tell fairy tales. These ***** T -shirts brought from Moscow. In general, it looks like these are your friends. Are you from a gay club too? Let’s go, I explained everything to you, - on these words the director of the cemetery put me out.

However, not only law enforcement agencies can punish the guilty in the Caucasus. “It was not a male act, you can teach your wife, but an outsider who gave you the right to beat? - says one of the locals. “I think they will not leave him just like that, they’ll get out with him.”

"Found a killer!"

В Беслане живут около 37 тысяч человек — и многие из них разделяют мнение Дудиевой о том, что акция «Путин — палач Беслана» была «проспонсирована» или как минимум придумана некими оппозиционерами.

На лавочке неподалеку от спортзала 4 сентября сидят два пожилых человека. Один из них работает здесь охранником и 1 сентября 2016 года весь день был на дежурстве (представиться он категорически отказался).

— Я 10 лет здесь стою, и не было такого. Это заготовленная, срежиссированная акция, — уверенно произносит он.

- by whom?

— Оппозиционерами или как их, Pussy Riot, типа такого что-то. На майках у них было написано прямое оскорбление Путина.

— Посторонние ( имеются в виду журналисты — прим. «Медузы» ) побежали отсюда снимать [акцию], — вступает в разговор его знакомый.

— И выложить в ютьюб или как там его. Это все заготовлено было, — соглашается охранник.

— Скомпрометировать нынешнее руководство, в том числе наше МВД, что пропустили таких людей. Все это заготовка перед выборами, это всем ясно. Не поддерживаю этот лозунг, надо оставить людей в покое и дать им переживать свое горе, — говорит мужчина и уходит в дом. Охранник объясняет, что у него в школе погибли жена и внучка.

«Штурм был и стреляли по окнам, где эти в черных масках бегали. Путин — убийца! Ха, нашли убийцу!» — недоумевает охранник. Суд над активистками «Голоса Беслана» он также одобряет: «Если на вас сосед такое оскорбление напишет или будет в глаза говорить, вам понравится? А тут на главу государства! How is it? Уже говорят, какую сумму им дали — 500 долларов. Как можно так Вовку опустить?»

О том, что случилось в этом году во время мемориальных мероприятий, в городе, похоже, знают все — но не все готовы об этом говорить. Три пожилых мужчины сидят на лавочке около новенького спортивного комплекса. «Мы только от тебя об этом услышали, ничего не знаем, честное слово», — сообщают они в унисон. Потом двое уходят и оставшийся тихо добавляет: «Все у нас возмущены, что эти женщины во время траура сняли одежду и в майках с надписями остались. С их мнением я не согласен, но меня здесь не было в это время, я просто строю стройкомплекс».

С обвинениями в адрес российских властей жители Беслана, с которыми удалось поговорить, в основном также не согласны.

— Первый раз слышу [о том, что обстрел начали силовики]. Я буду голосовать за Путина. Лично для меня и для всех, кого я знаю, ничего плохого он не сделал, — говорит женщина, которую я встречаю неподалеку от администрации города.

— Менты местные виноваты, это и ежу понятно, нужно было сразу штурм начинать, — добавляет ее муж.

Геннадий и Славик закидывают собранный в кучки мусор в грузовик около школы № 1. Рядом женщина подметает улицу.

— Силовики стреляли из танков? По залу? — удивленно переспрашивает меня Геннадий.

— Там люди были очень грамотные! Если такое было, значит, это надо было, — отвечает женщина.

— Я не видел, чтобы стреляли из огнеметов, мы тогда были рядом. Два танка стояло у магазина хозтоваров, один уехал, но я не слышал, чтобы он стрелял, — говорит Геннадий.

— Надо было сразу штурмовать, чтобы не дать им время развесить и раздать оружие, — добавляет Славик.

— Путин при чем тут? Он что, дал приказ по зданию стрелять? Это чистая провокация! Кто-то выдумывает! Какой он палач? 12 лет прошло, и они выдумали это перед выборами, чтобы испортить человеку, — начинает возмущаться Геннадий. — Это матери Беслана? Не может быть, чтобы матери Беслана этим занимались! Я таких не видел никогда тут!

В «Голосе Беслана» не удивляются такой реакции жителей города. Элла Кесаева объясняет, что люди, во-первых, боятся сказать, что думают, незнакомому журналисту — а во-вторых, находятся под влиянием пропаганды. «Еще в школе детей агитируют, что спецназ герой, по утрам по школе раздаются песни, прославляющие спецназ, — рассказывает она. — Погибшие 10 человек [сотрудников правоохранительных органов] — это герои, и светлая им память, но у нас и обычные мужчины спасали детей в одних футболках, а к ним ноль внимания».

Действительно, 5 сентября я встречаю около спортзала детей из владикавказской школы, которых привезли сюда учительницы. Они рассказывают детям, что, когда начался штурм, боевики стреляли в спину убегавшим, а началось все с того, что две бомбы взорвались внутри. «Мы общались с очевидцами, кто здесь сидел, и они нам много чего рассказывали, но такого [версию, что взрывы произвели власти] никогда не говорили, — пояснила учительница „Медузе“. — Мой муж стоял около спортзала и такой версии не слышал. Силовые структуры сделали все возможное — сколько ребят погибло».

Женщины из «Голоса Беслана» утверждают, что многие с ними солидарны, но выступать публично не готовы. «Мы ходили в поликлинику взять справки судмедэкспертизы о синяках, и к нам подходили люди и говорили, что поддерживают нас», — говорит Бетрозова. Маргиева добавляет: «Многие нас хотели защитить 1 сентября, но их не допускали к нам. Зато мы слышали, как люди кричали: „Отпустите их! Вы менты или террористы?“»

«Если они хотят правду про Путина, то пусть идут в Москву»

После молебна 5 сентября в спортзале несколько женщин приглашают меня поговорить во двор между двумя пятиэтажными домами, которые от школы № 1 отделяет только полоска гаражей.

Со мной на скамейку садятся Залина, Мадина, Лана и Жанна с дочкой Фатимой. Фатима выжила в спортзале, но осколок попал ей в голову — девочка долго лежала в коме; врачи собирали ей череп заново, в Германии вставили шунт для вывода жидкости. Фатиму пришлось заново учить говорить.

— У нас девочка очень тяжелая, и времени нет на то, чтобы ходить на митинги. Мы до сих пор ездим из больницы в больницу, все уже продали, что могли, а ей каждый год нужно ездить в Германию на 17 тысяч евро, — говорит тетя Фатимы Лана. — Каждый решает проблемы как может.

Залина хочет, чтобы «церемониал к школе уже прекратили». «Хватит, достаточно. Пусть кто хочет приходит, но правительства нам не нужно. Мы, жители этих домов, просим прекратить отмечать эту дату. Как сентябрь начинается, так мы все плачем, все это вспоминаем», — говорит она.

— Пора живыми детьми заняться, вновь родившимися, — добавляет Мадина, которая моложе других женщин.

— Лучше и спортзал этот вообще убрать, — предлагает Залина.

— А как же память? I clarify.

— Для кого? Для этой девочки? Чтобы она всю жизнь, глядя на него, страдала? Думаете, за 12 лет это расследование еще кому-то нужно? Жанне нужно живой девочкой заниматься, у нее душа болит и без этого, — говорит Залина. (Сама Жанна при этом молчит.)

— Вам не хочется узнать правду?

— Нам правду все равно никто не расскажет. Власть себя виновной считать не будет, в крайнем случае они найдут козла отпущения и на него все спишут, — отвечают женщины, перебивая друг друга.

— А своими акциями «Голос Беслана» позорит нас, женщин, и нашу республику. Если они хотят правду про Путина, то пусть идут в Москву, — добавляет Залина.

— Им за счет этих лозунгов про правду капают деньги и рабочие места, хотя некоторые потерявшие детей до сих пор ютятся в однокомнатной квартире. Лучше бы деньги капали живым детям, — говорит Мадина.

— Мы хотим жить спокойно, чтобы не было войны, и дожить вот так, как мы сейчас живем. Мы вообще за Путина, — говорит Залина.

— То есть власти не виноваты?

— Даже если три дома встанут и скажут [что виноваты], все равно нас никто не послушает. Мы тоже знаем, что первый выстрел был извне, ну и что? — не выдерживает Залина.

— Больше трех суток они сидели. Невозможно было же — и что-то решать надо было, — говорит Мадина.

Фатима, которая слушает их разговор, вдруг начинает повторять фразу: «Умирать не хотела, не хотела».

Когда женщины расходятся по домам, одна из них говорит не под запись, что согласна с версией «Голоса Беслана» — но никакого толка от действий активисток уже нет.

На скамейку присаживается немолодой мужчина. Это Владимир Томаев, в школе у него погибли жена и дочь. В руках он теребит платок, которым каждую минуту промокает глаза. «Время пройдет, год за годом нас становится больше. Придет день, и нас будет очень много, и тогда люди будут знать, что на самом деле власть делает все неправильно, против своего народа, — говорит он. — Москва могла остановить все тогда, но Путин не захотел, чтобы Масхадов освободил всех детей. Дети могли остаться живыми, это мы стопроцентно знаем. Были наши дети, и нет их теперь».

Томаев — один из немногих жителей Беслана, который поддерживает акцию женщин. «Пусть власть чувствует, что за этими детьми стоят матери, что есть люди, которые завтра встанут и пойдут против власти. Если в этом году надели майки шесть человек, то в следующем году их будут уже тысячи здесь, а потом и по всей России, — говорит он. — В 1941 году мы знали, что на нас напали, а сейчас власть сама на своих детей нападает. Человек тонет в воде, а ты рядом стоишь и можешь его спасти, но ты его не вытаскиваешь, а, наоборот, топишь. Вот такая у нас сейчас власть, и в „Единой России“ все такие».

Со столицей Северной Осетии Владикавказом Беслан соединяет одна дорога. На въезде в город рядом с ней размещены сразу два плаката с изображением Владимира Путина. На одном написано: «Гордимся страной — гордимся президентом». На втором — «Верим».
