
The opening of each new stadium, which are now being built for the 2018 World Cup, should be accompanied by a match with the participation of the Russian national team. This idea was made by the Minister of Sports of Russia and the President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko.
“We have not only a desire to open every new stadium for the 2018 World Cup for the Russian national team. This, I will say, is a vital need,” TASS remarked, whose words gives TASS. “We need to test every erected football arena how to test how it works, to evaluate the qualifications of staff.”
The head of the RFU expects the next year to hold a match at a rebuilt stadium in Sochi, as well as in the arena in St. Petersburg until the start of the Confederations Cup.
Mutko noted that in 2017 the Russian national football team will play its first home -made comradely match in Kazan, it is planned for spring. The game in the capital of Tatarstan will be the second in 2017 for the Stanislav Cherchesov team. The first match Russians will play on the road.
Currently, construction work is underway at 10 stadiums, where in the summer of 2018 matches of the World Cup will be held.
