Every Russian family has a car, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on the Vesti on Saturday program. Speaking about the transport situation in the country, Medvedev noted that the population of Russia has become "absolutely automobile."
The Prime Minister stressed that roads are therefore an absolute priority for the government and the regions.
“I have already held several meetings with my fellow governors, saying that even the small funds that you can free up must be directed to roads. The population of our country has become absolutely automobile. In the Soviet period, every tenth person had a car. Now every family has a car, everyone drives. Therefore, roads are an absolute priority.”
