Lavrov discussed Syrian settlement with the Foreign Minister of the Turkish Foreign Ministry

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Turkey, Sergey Lavrov and Mevlut Chavushoglu, discussed by telephone the situation in Syria in the context of Russian-American negotiations in Geneva and the deal concluded between Moscow and Washington.

It is noted that the conversation took place on the initiative of the Turkish side. "A mutual understanding of the importance of fulfilling all interested parties to the cessation of hostilities and the resumption of the inter -Sirian negotiation process was expressed," the Russian department quoted TASS as saying.

Reuters conveys the position of Ankara: there they confirmed the commitment to agreements aimed at reducing violence.

The Syrian Opposition City Committee on negotiations (BCP) also supported the agreement. The representative of the opposition Basma Kodmani said the Air Force: "Moderate groups are reorganized and distant from radical groups. We will do our part of the work." At the same time, Kodmani assured that the CPSU himself advocated a truce, and accused the government armed forces of his violations.

The day before, the head of Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed in Geneva a package of five documents designed to establish a regime for the cessation of hostilities in the war of the war in Syria for more than five years and lay the foundation for the resumption of the political process. These documents include agreements on the distinction between the opposition and terrorists, the response procedures for violations of the ceasefire, as well as the delivery issues of humanitarian aid.
