The Lefortovo District Court extended the arrest until December 19 of the Deputy Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for Moscow Denis Nikandrov, reports . the Moscow agency
“We satisfy the investigator’s request to extend the preventive measure against Nikandrov in the form of detention until December 19,” said Judge Margarita Kotova.
At the request of the FSB investigator, the judge closed the trial, and listeners were only allowed in to hear the decision read out.
At the hearing, Nikandrov’s defense submitted a motion to disqualify the entire composition of the Lefortovo court. According to the lawyer, a letter was sent to the chairman of the court from the leadership of the FSB, which states that the meeting will be held behind closed doors.
“FSB officers say that all the judges of the Lefortovo court are under their control and they will make the decision they need. I have no reason not to believe them. I believe that the issue of extending the arrest should be considered by another court,” Nikandrov himself said.
The court saw no grounds for challenge and refused to satisfy the petition. In addition, Nikandrov’s defense challenged the prosecutor.
“This prosecutor is subordinate to Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Grin, who issued an illegal decision to initiate a criminal case against me. I believe that this is Viktor Grin’s revenge for the case against Moscow region prosecutors and illegal casinos, which I led,” Nikandrov noted.
Denis Nikandrov, as well as the head of the security service department of the Investigative Committee, Mikhail Maksimenko, and his deputy, Alexander Lamonov, are accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). The investigation believes that high-ranking employees of the Investigative Committee were promised five million rubles by Zakhary Kalashov for the release of Kochuykov and Romanov. Kochuykov and Romanov are accused of extorting eight million rubles from the owner of the Elements restaurant on Rochdelskaya Street, Zhanna Kim. In December 2015, a conflict with shooting occurred between people from Kalashov’s circle and Kim’s lawyers, which resulted in the death of two people.
Later, an Interfax source reported that Dmitry Zakharchenko, deputy head of the “T” department of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who was recently arrested, and who was found to have $125 million and two million euros during a search, may be involved in the case. According to the source, Zakharchenko warned high-ranking officers of the Investigative Committee Mikhail Maksimenko, his deputy Alexander Lamonov and the first deputy head of the capital’s main directorate of the Investigative Committee Denis Nikandrov that operational work was being carried out against them. Later, these words were denied by a TASS source, saying that the case against Zakharchenko is not connected with the case of generals SK and Zakhary Kalashov.
