The Chinese developer of the “Tesla killer” may begin deliveries to Russia next year

Chinese LeEco may begin supplying electric vehicles of its own design to Russia in 2017. This was stated by the president of LeRee Russia and Eastern Europe, Viktor Xu, at an event marking LeEco’s entry into the Russian market, TASS reports.

“Our American partners, our plant in America is starting to mass-produce electric cars. I hope that this year we will soon begin collecting applications for cars with delivery in a year,” he said.

As you know, the owner of the LeRee conglomerate, Chinese millionaire Jia Yuting, is the owner of the American-Chinese startup Faraday Future. The company unveiled its FFZero1 concept car at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January of this year and plans to begin mass production of electric vehicles in Nevada.

At home, the brand’s only model so far is the LeSEE electric sedan, which was presented last April at the Beijing Auto Show as a concept car and was advertised as another “Tesla killer” accelerating at 200 km/h. Meanwhile, LeEco intends to build a factory to produce 400 thousand electric vehicles per year. Construction will take place in the eastern province of Zhejiang and should be completed by 2018.
