Russian artist Stepan Myannik painted in support of the video blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky, accused of inciting enmity and insulting the feelings of believers due to catching Pokemon in the temple in Yekaterinburg. On the canvas, a famous gospel plot is depicted - a secret evening, but Pokemon gathered at the meal instead of 12 apostles. In an interview with Znak.com, the 22-year-old artist admitted that he was shocked by the reason for the arrest of Sokolovsky. "In this regard, in his defense and support for common sense, I wrote the painting" Secret Office "with Pokemon, which I put up for sale for 500 thousand rubles," he said. The size of the canvas is 180 by 120 centimeters.

According to the meannik, the money will go to pay a lawyer for Ruslan Sokolovsky. The artist asked "all sane people" to support him "the initiative to protect the preservation of mercy."

Stepan Myannik was born in 1994 in Moscow in the family of actress Regina Myannik and a urologist. He studied at the Moscow school until 2010, then continued his education in England, graduating from King's School, Ely. Since 2013, Stepan has been a student at the Faculty of Painting of the University of Arts (UAL).

The first independent exhibition of Stepan Myannik "split? Split!" Opened in September 2015. It presented paintings depicting chips of various minerals and microscopically increased drops of toxic substances.

The investigation against 21-year-old Ruslan Sokolovsky began after the publishing of the video on which he plays in Pokemon Go in the Temple on Blood. On September 3, the suspect was arrested. He was charged with “insulting the feelings of believers” (part 2 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and “exciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity” (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The international human rights organization Amnesty International recognized the blogger as a prisoner of conscience and called his arrest an "absurd attack on freedom of expression." Last week, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court changed the preventive measure of Sokolovsky from detention in the pre -trial detention center for house arrest .
