The Ministry of Education and Science considers it unacceptable to have 400 textbooks for primary school students. This was announced on Tuesday by the head of the department Olga Vasilieva at the All -Russian Congress of rural school teachers, TASS reports .
“There are 400 textbooks in elementary school. In this sea of textbooks, in my opinion, there are three lines worthy, no more,” said Vasilieva. “The most important now is the content of programs in elementary school. Four hundred textbooks in elementary grades are unacceptable. I hope that we will solve it in the near future.”
The minister emphasized that she is not against the creative approaches of teachers, but in the presence of a high -quality basis in the child. It is necessary to have several basic lines of textbooks for elementary school, Vasiliev believes. They should be the same for the whole country, and already in addition to them teachers will be able to choose in -depth programs.
On August 19, Vasilieva was appointed Minister of Education , replacing Dmitry Livanov in this post. On August 30, she advised her parents to block sites and games on the Internet for their children. "As for the school, I believe that there should be a preventive replacement in schools. So that the child is engaged in active activities, sports, music, to distract him from a constant desire to sit on the network all the time," the minister said.
In May 2015, the chairmen of the Duma Committee on Security and Education Unicorn Irina Yarovaya and Vyacheslav Nikonov submitted a bill to the State Duma on the introduction of basic school textbooks on mathematics, history, Russian language and literature. "Education in schools is currently carried out on recommended textbooks from the federal list, which, in turn, implies the variability of the methods and the content of these textbooks," the explanatory note said. “This variability contradicts the Constitution of the Russian Federation, since it does not ensure a unified state policy in the field of education.”
In October 2014, it was reported that the bill on the teaching of history, literature and the Russian language according to single textbooks is being developed by a group of unicorn. “Russian citizens can have one general textbook of history, one general textbook of the Russian language and one common textbook of Russian literature,” said Yarovaya then. “Continuity of generations should be provided.”
In such norms, “power structures are interested in, who think that if everyone is the same, then everyone will become patriots,” then the first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee, communist Oleg Smolin, noted. He noted that the initiative of unicorn contradicts the concept of the Law on Education. It establishes variability, that is, allows the existence of several pedagogical schools and, accordingly, various textbooks.
