Three teenagers who attacked a postman with baseball bats were detained in Volgograd

In Volgograd, police detained three teenagers aged 14 to 16 years on suspicion of robbery against a postman, according to the website of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the region.

According to investigators, on the morning of September 12, 2016, two schoolgirls and an evening school student attacked a postwoman who was going to work. The teenagers tried to take the woman's bag.

“At the same time, there was a clear distribution of roles between the accomplices. The 16-year-old attacker beat the victim with a baseball bat, the second schoolgirl punched and kicked the postman’s body, snatching her bag, and the teenager monitored the situation around him and had to give a prearranged signal in case of “danger,” the department said in a statement.

The postwoman resisted and the teenagers ran away. After this, the woman contacted the police and told about what happened. The postman is now in the hospital.

The police detained the suspects, a criminal case was opened against them under Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code (robbery committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), and the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being decided. It is also reported that two young people are involved in the case of car theft in the Voroshilovsky district of Volgograd.
