Former head of Komi Vyacheslav Gaizer was charged with new episodes of bribery and fraud

The investigation has brought charges against the former head of Komi, Vyacheslav Gaizer, for new episodes of fraud and bribery, reports . RIA Novosti

“Gaiser has been charged with two counts of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) and two counts of Article 290 of the Criminal Code (bribery),” the judge said while extending the arrest period for the former head of the republic.

The judge noted that the charges were filed on August 31. The amount of bribes was not specified at the meeting.

In early September, the RBC publication, citing its sources , reported that the former head of Komi was charged with bribery on an especially large scale. The publication wrote that the investigation considered the transfer of 50% of the shares of the company Autocentre LLC, on the balance sheet of which the Avalon Hotel is located, to persons controlled by the administration of the republic as a bribe.

In addition, Gaiser is accused of organizing a criminal community and laundering criminal proceeds. The same charges were brought against his deputy Alexander Chernov, Igor Kovzel, a deputy of the State Council of Komi, and financiers Lev Libenzon and Pavel Marushchak. In total, 19 people are involved in the case.

In addition, it was reported that the director of the T Plus company, Boris Vainzikher, and the co-owner of the Renova group of companies, Evgeniy Olkhovik, are suspected of bribing the management of Komi. Vyacheslav Gaizer's lawyer told RIA Novosti that his client does not qualify for T Plus and Renova.
