Cans of the video festival will be held in Moscow

From September 22 to 27, Moscow will be presented in Moscow of the XV International Kansky Video Festival.

“This year, the international Kansk festival in the city of Kansk turned 15 years old. Starting like a joke in the Siberian outback, he became a very serious matter for us. One of our tasks we see the need to change all the time and look for a new one. But the quality of our program always remains unchanged, these are really the best, the most free films from around the world. And I am glad to present our program on a serious festival site in Moscow. This is a gift from Kansk to Moscow, ”says the director of the festival Pavel Labazov.

The competition program of the festival is 22 short films of directors and artists from Russia, Greece, Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, France, the USA, Israel, Italy and Switzerland.

The winner of the Grand Prix, the “gold palm secateur”, and other prizes of the festival will determine the international jury, which included the media artist and director Melissa Dullus (Brazil), director Anton Biljo (Russia), philosopher and Judaica specialist Uri Gershovich (Israel), video artist and producer of the festival of extractors ESF films Dmitry Bulnygin (Russia) and the video artist Van Ingen (Finland) themselves.

In addition to the competitive program in Moscow, special short selection will be shown: “Surrealism VS Realism” and the Finnish experimental movie program.

At the festival, several full -length Moscow and Russian prime ministers will also take place. Among them, the film “Russia as a Dream”, created in 2015 in Kansk directors, jury members and the festival team, the film project “Nonsense is collective Antikino” by Dmitry Bulnygin.

Russian author’s cinema will be represented by two paintings-Anton Biljo Fish-Dream and Documentary of Olga Stolpovskaya “Year of Literature” with a full-length debut. Of the most anticipated international premieres-the German-Private film “ABOVE and BELOW” , recognized as the best documentary of the year in Switzerland and Germany. The director of the film, Nicholas Steiner is one of the winners of the Kansky video festival, in 2010 he received a diploma for the short work “I am Helmut”.

In addition, simultaneously with the festival on September 22–26, an exhibition of the Russian video art “Untitleology” will be held with the participation of representatives of the new generation of video artists working at the junction of cinema and contemporary art.
