The source, "close to the investigating authorities", confirmed this information. "He changes the scope of activity because he received another proposal where he can solve no less large -scale and responsible problems," the source said.

Later, Interfax, citing a source in the fuel and energy complex, said that Markin could go to RusHydro after dismissal from the TFR. “After leaving the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee, Markin may take the post of deputy general director of RusHydro for public relations and state authorities,” the source said.

Markin in response stated that the coincidences were due to the description of "the same specific circumstances recorded by the materials of the criminal case and voiced in court." At the same time, he called Prussenkov "to anyone but his swamp, not known and unnecessary journalist", which "wants to promote on his name."

However, on September 8, Markin apologized to Prussenkova . “Yesterday it was a very emotional day, I consider it my duty to apologize to the journalist of Novaya Gazeta,” Markin wrote. “I publicly apologize to the hope of Prussenkova, who was offended as a woman and journalist unusual for me with a rude statement.”

On September 15, journalist Ilya Barabanova accused Markin of plagiarism . Some fragments of Markin’s book about the Politkovskaya case are completely, up to punctuation marks, repeat the article “How Anna Politkovskaya was killed”, published in The New Times on December 22, 2008.

Later, the Eksmo Publishing House, which released the book of Markin, explained the lack of references of the “technical error” and apologized to Markin and “authors of publications in the media, excerpts from which were included in the book without links to sources”.
