The House of US Representatives adopted a law on sanctions against Russia

The House of Representatives of the US Congress adopted the law on the support of Ukraine. This was reported on September 21 on the website of the Congressman from the Democratic Party Eliot Engel, one of the initiators of the bill.

The law suggests that in order to weaken sanctions, Russia must ensure the implementation of the Minsk agreements, in particular to the transfer of full control over its eastern border.

The sanctions related to the Crimea are assumed in the document will be valid until it returned to Ukraine.

The law also involves the complication of Russia's acquisition of military equipment from NATO members and collecting reports that control Ukrainian assets (including Russian banks in Crimea).

The document was adopted by the House of Representatives unanimously. The validity of the law will be five years from the date of its entry into force. To do this, the document must support the US Senate and sign President Barack Obama.

The United States imposed sanctions against Russia in 2014. Since then, restrictions have been regularly expanded; The last time new additional sanctions were imposed in early September 2016.
