IKEA will start online in Moscow

IKEA plans to launch an online store in the Moscow region. This is written by "Vedomosti".

Representatives of several delivery operators, with whom the Swedish company are negotiating, told the publication about IKEA plans. In IKEA itself, detailed comments abstained.

“We plan to develop online sales, including in Moscow, work in this direction is underway,” the company representative said, without specifying the timing of the project.

IKEA is already selling goods online in other Russian cities, the first online store appeared in 2013 in Omsk; Then sales were distributed for several dozen cities in the Urals.

The first IKEA store in Russia was opened in 2000 in Khimki. Now there are 14 stores of the company in the country, three of which are located in the Moscow region.

As noted by Vedomosti, referring to Data Insight data, now the leader of online trade among furniture stores in Russia is HOFF (1.6 billion rubles for 2015), “Coopy” (1.31 billion) and “Triya” (897 million).
