It will take place from May 13 to November 26, 2017, the Biennale theme is “Viva Arte Viva” (“Long live living art!”).
According to Christine Masel, this motto reflects the role and responsibility of the artist in the formation of modern discussions, reports Artforum .
The curator described to Biennale as an exhibition created together with artists, artists themselves and for artists, which "should open the ways to new humanism, becoming an experience of movement towards himself to another, towards an understandable and not succumbing to the definition."
In addition to the national pavilions of 57 participating countries at the 57th Venetian Biennale, “open tables” will be held every week, where artists will talk about their work.
When in March this year, the main curator of the Pompidu Center in Paris, Christine Masel was appointed curator of the 57th Venice Biennale, Paolo Baratt said: “Biennale chose Christine Masel as a curator, invariably emphasizing the importance of the artist’s role in creating his own worlds and bringing vital energy to the world in which we live.”
