Governor of St. Petersburg Poltavchenko refused his deputy mandate

The governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko, refused the mandate of a State Duma deputy, which he received following the results of the elections. This is stated in a message on the website of the regional branch of the United Russia party.

“I am resigning my mandate as a deputy of the State Duma, I want to work with you as governor of St. Petersburg,” the mayor announced.

Vyacheslav Makarov, secretary of the regional branch of the United Russia party, thanked the governor for his active participation in the election campaign.

According to the results of the elections to the city parliament, which has 50 seats, there are 36 United Russia members.

Earlier, Fontanka reported that after summing up the results of the elections, Vice Governor Igor Divinsky can go to the State Duma, and Yuri Avdeev, chairman of the Committee on Physical Culture, and heads of three districts at once, to the Legislative Assembly. We are talking about the heads of three districts - Krasnoselsky (Evgeny Nikolsky), Petrogradsky (Yuri Gladunov) and Central (Maria Shcherbakova).
