Several heads of the Ivanteevka police department were fired from the Ministry of Internal Affairs after Saturday’s accident involving a drunken police officer, in which three adults and a child died, Tatyana Petrova, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region, told RIA Novosti.

“The head of the Ivanteevka police department, as well as his deputy and a number of managers, were dismissed from the internal affairs bodies,” Petrova said. The head of the Pushkinskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs department was severely reprimanded, and the deputy chief and assistant for working with personnel were warned about incomplete performance.

According to investigators, early in the morning of September 24, a drunk policeman violated traffic rules in the area of ​​the M-8 Kholmogory highway, and his car collided with another car, which was thrown onto the side of the road. Three adults and a child in the car died from their injuries; the policeman's companion and a three-year-old child were injured.

The Rybinsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church reported that the victims of the collision were Deacon Alexey Shumilin, his wife, mother and young daughter.

The policeman was fired from the Ministry of Internal Affairs “for negative reasons” and detained.
