The European Parliament Committee supported the visa -free regime with Ukraine

The European Parliament Committee on Civil Freedom, Justice and Internal Affairs supported the provision of a visa -free regime for Ukraine, reports Reuters . 38 deputies voted for this, four people voted against.

Now the decision of the committee should be approved by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.

Against the expansion of the list of countries with a visa -free regime with the EU are France and Germany. Representatives of these states offer first to develop a migration law that will limit the influx of migrants, the agency notes.

In June, the European Union proposed to postpone the consideration of the question of a visa -free regime with Ukraine until September. Wall Street Journal wrote that the proposal is associated with the concern of the authorities of France and Germany regarding organized crime in Georgia.

The EU Committee on Foreign Affairs approved the introduction of a visa -free regime for Georgia, Ukraine and Kosovo in July.

The European Commission in May recommended introducing a visa -free regime with Ukraine. The EU authorities have positively evaluated the measures taken by Ukraine to fulfill the plan for the liberalization of visa legislation.
