Protesters against heating shutdowns were detained in Novy Urengoy

On September 29, in Novy Urengoy, several people were detained protesting against turning off the heating in a residential building. This was reported to OVD-Info by eyewitnesses of the detention. Among the detainees are a resident of the house, Musa Mammadov, who went on a hunger strike, Ibrahim Mammadov, as well as two journalists who filmed a report on the incident, Alexei Kryzhanovsky and Zhanna Belik. The police accuse the detainees of holding an uncoordinated rally.

Musa Mammadov went on a hunger strike and hung a poster about the hunger strike and the deprivation of children's housing after the heating and hot water were turned off in a residential building in the Montazhniki microdistrict at 57 Zvezdnaya Street, which in 2012 would have been declared emergency, on the morning of September 29. Meanwhile, people still live in the building, including children who have not been provided with housing and have nowhere to go.
