In Sergiev Posad, the editor and publisher of the "Alternative newspaper" Andrei Trofimov was searched in the case of extremism. He himself reported this on the social network.

In the morning, police officers came to the apartment to Trofimov, including several riot police in masks. “They say that they have a decision to search my apartment from an investigator who initiated a criminal case on extremism. Now they will seize all the devices. In fact, I have not violated the law and I consider it all with attacks related to my professional activity,” Trofimov wrote.

Investigators seized all office equipment, telephones, all the carriers of information, including wheels with children's cartoons, as well as two quadrocopters.

“I will try to return all this, but there are little hopes. The employees said that I“ stepped on my ear, ”Trofimov said after the search.“ I won’t leave my matter. I would not violate the law and I am not going to break it. ”

As the journalist specified, the case was opened against the chieftain of local Cossacks of Turukhin under part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred or enmity). The search was carried out by the senior authorized manner for particularly important cases of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Moscow Region Mikhail Dubova. As mentioned in the decision on the search, the investigation believes that Trofimov was engaged in the spread of information about the activities of the Cossacks. The journalist himself called the latter "Orthodox Nazis."

In 2014, Trofimov really covered some shares of the Cossacks as a journalist.
