
On October 4, the Apple Pay payment system began to work in Russia, which allows you to pay for purchases using iPhone smartphones, iPad tablets, “smart” watches of Apple Watch, as well as PC Mac. A message about the launch of the system was published on the Apple website .
To use the advantages of Apple Pay, you must first tie your bank card to the system (instead of its number, the store will receive a special identification code). To pay for the goods or services, the owner of the Apple device will be enough to attach a finger to the Touch ID sensor and bring the iPhone to the payment terminal. At the same time, Apple Watch watches should press the side button twice, and then also bring the clock to the terminal.
The first Russian bank supporting Apple's payment system was Sberbank. As noted in the press release published on the bank’s website , Sberbank Mastercard holders can use Apple Pay.
You can pay for purchases using Apple Pay in stores "ABC TAST", "ACHAN", "M. Video", "Magnit", Mediamarkt, TsUM and at BP gas stations. Soon this list will be replenished with other stores, including Eldorado and Burger King.
"When paying for purchases in applications or in Safari Apple Pay, it works on the iPhone 6 and newer models, on the iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 and newer models. You can also use the Apple Pay in the Safari browser on any Mac output with the MacOS Sierra, installed Macs Sierra system. In this case, confirming the payment from its iPhone 6 or later model or directly from the Apple Watch, ”the Sberbank report said.
Note that Apple Pay came to Russia just a few days after the launch of the Samsung Pay payment system in the country. The work of this service is currently supported by Alfa-Bank banks, VTB 24, MTS Bank, Raiffeisenbank and Russian Standard, as well as the Yandex.Money service.
