The Kalininsky District Court of St. Petersburg will soon consider a criminal case against Artyom Chebotarev, an activist of the Free Ingria movement, accused of inciting hatred for a comment on a social network. This is reported by the Fontanka Internet newspaper, citing representatives of the court, who said that the Chebotarev case, along with the indictment, was submitted to the court, but has not yet been scheduled for consideration. Judge Pilekhin has thirty days for this, since Chebotarev is under a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior, court officials noted.
In February 2016, it became known that Artem Chebotarev, one of the founders of the Free Ingria movement, was charged under part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code: according to investigators, on February 7, Chebotarev posted on the VKontakte social network, most likely in the Russian-speaking group Bandera" "information aimed at inciting hatred and enmity, as well as humiliating dignity towards a social group of persons."
Artem Chebotarev is a supporter of the separation of the ethno-cultural region of Ingermanland (which, according to the members of the Free Ingria organization, includes St. Petersburg) from Russia.
