The son of the Vice President of Lukoil Ruslan Shamsuarov accused the police of provocating the races on Gelandewagen, RBC reports .

During the testimony in the court, Shamsuarov said that the police threw the rod into the car of their friends, which provoked the races.

“We rode along Leninsky Prospekt about 80 km per hour, drove to the garden ring when someone shouted-look, the rod flew,” said Shamsuarov.

According to him, after this incident there were no signs of chase or sounds of sirens. After some time, the company wanted to return to the traffic police post on Leninsky Prospekt to find out why the traffic police officer threw the rod and broke the bumper on the BMW girlfriends. The accusation of Ruslan Shamsuarov and two other participants in the race (Viktor Utklov and Abduvahobu Majidov) was brought by the Investigative Committee on June 14. They were accused of a threat of violence against a representative of the authorities (part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and of insulting a representative of the authorities (Article 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). They were released under the recognizance not to leave.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee tried three times to initiate a business against the race participants under an article on hooliganism, but the prosecutor’s office canceled the decisions, suggesting in return to pursue the defendants for insulting the authorities.
