JSC Russian Railways will sell 25% in Russia's largest manufacturer of reinforced concrete sleepers, Beteltrans (BET), to T-Industry. As TASS reports , such an order from Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev appeared on the official legal information portal.

The government ordered the sale of 942,425 BET shares at a price not lower than the market price determined based on the report of an independent appraiser, but not lower than the par value of the shares.

In 2014, T-Industry JSC bought 50% minus two shares of BET for 3.025 billion rubles. T-Industry was created by the Aqua Solid company, which was created in May 2013 by Igor Chaika, the youngest son of the Russian Prosecutor General. Kommersant wrote in August that the government may soon allow T-Industry to buy another 25% of BET. The newspaper noted that, according to Kartoteka.ru, 70% of T-Industry belongs to the Dutch Spoor Structuur Investering BV (from the Millennium Bank disclosure it follows that the company is controlled by the largest sleeper manufacturer in Kazakhstan, Magnetic LLP Dmitry Grechanichenko), and 30 % - Aqua Solid LLC, 99% of which belongs to Igor Chaika. In 2012–2013 T-Industry won Russian Railways tenders to supply the monopoly with products worth 269 billion rubles until 2017.

Since 2004, a stake in Russian Railways subsidiaries can only be sold with government permission. Russian Railways President Oleg Belozerov spoke about the possibility of transferring control to BET "T-Industry" in November 2015. In June 2016, he spoke about Russian Railways' plans to sell securities of non-core enterprises for 14 billion rubles.
