The former head of the Komi Republic Vladimir Torlopov, who held this post in 2002-2010, was summoned as a suspect for interrogation in the case of his successor Vyacheslav Gaizer. This was reported by Interfax, citing a source familiar with the situation.
“On Wednesday, Torlopov’s lawyer was handed a summons to appear for interrogation as a suspect in the high-profile Gaiser case,” the source said.
In turn, a TASS source in law enforcement agencies said that a criminal case had been opened against Torlopov under the article “organization of a criminal community and participation in it” (Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). according to the agency, the case is "directly linked" to the Gaiser case.
“It is known that tomorrow, October 6, one of the Moscow courts will choose a measure of restraint. The investigation intends to petition for house arrest," the TASS interlocutor said.
