On October 6, Valentin Nikitchenko was detained near the monument to Marshal Zhukov in the center of Moscow. This was reported to OVD-Info by Mark Galperin.
According to him, around 19.50 a police car drove up. The officers approached Nikitchenko, who was standing at the monument with a poster "Freedom to political prisoners" and demanded documents. The activist refused to show his passport, saying that he would give verbal explanations. However, the police officers were not satisfied with this and took Nikitchenko to the Kitay-gorod police department. There they took Nikitchenko's explanations, wrote down his data and released him.
