The accused of embezzlement of the money of the Senator Kremlin Group received 12 years

The Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced to 12 years in prison Vladislav Tsoraev for the theft of the money of the former senator and governor of the Samara region Konstantin Titov, Kommersant reports .

According to the newspaper, the prosecutor asked for Tsorayev eight and a half years in prison, but the court gave more. The man was convicted of part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale).

The court also satisfy the property requirements of the ex-Senator worth more than 280 million rubles. The newspaper writes that the politician is going to return the money to the arrest of real estate, which was bought with his money.

According to Titov, in 2007, when he was a senator, people who introduced themselves as members of the “secret Kremlin group” invited him to invest in their highly profitable projects, allegedly enjoying the protection of the presidential administration. The politician agreed, took $ 4.4 million and € 1.5 million from his son and transferred these funds.

Among those with whom the senator agreed, Tsoraev, Anatoly Shutov, Alexei Prozorov and Arthur Kuralaev are mentioned. Later, Titov realized that he was deceived, but received only a receipt with a promise to return the money.

Tsoraeva and Kuralaev were then convicted on charges of fraud. According to the first, he received the money from the senator so that the Governor of the Ryazan Region Georgy Shpak was appointed for a second term, and the undertaking failed because Prozorov died, who allegedly took the senator's money.

The case of Titov’s statement was opened in 2015. According to Kommersant, the former senator remained unhappy that only Tsoraev was convicted, and is going to demand the arrest of property of other defendants in the case.
