Russia announced its readiness to cooperate with Mongolia in the field of energy support, the deficiency of which is currently observed in the country. However, as the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak said, "the cost of supplying Russian electricity to Mongolia should be market."
At the moment, the construction project for the hydroelectric power station on the Selange River has been suspended
because of
China’s refusal to finance its implementation. Russia provides electricity to the central and western territories of Mongolia. And, as Novak said, at a market price.
The implementation of the project for the construction of hydroelectric power plants on Selange could, in turn, negatively affect the difficult situation with fresh water in Buryatia - in Lake Baikal - the Russian "green" claim. Their position is supported by the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Sergey Donskoy.
Meanwhile, the authorities of Mongolia do not agree with the position of Russians and, in this situation, are going to seek help in financing the hydroelectric power station on the Salenge River to South Korea, Japan and Norway.
In addition, they do not sit in Mongolia, idle, more and more developing activities to get rid of the energy deficit. Here, for example, a wind farm is already being built, which will save 180 thousand tons of coal and 1.5 million tons of water per year.
The pioneer in the field of renewable energy sources - the company "Clean Energy" (wedge Energy) - entered into an agreement on financing the construction of the Tsetius wind park. Of the 128 million dollars required for the construction of this station with a capacity of 50 MW, 90 million will be attracted from external resources, and 25 million will be funded from a loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Montzame reports.
Note that this wind farm will be the second in Mongolia. Before the Center Project, Klin Energy, created with the shared participation of two companies - the Mongolian Newcom Group and the Japanese SB Energy - successfully implemented the project to create the first large wind park Salhit.
