On October 6, the police detained in Makhachkala six relatives of the Dagestanis Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov and Shamil Dzhamalutdinov who disappeared on September 27. The protesters gathered on the central square of Makhachkala and tried to break through to the building of the government of Dagestan. In the evening, the vice-speaker came out to them and stated that “There are no missing Dagestanis in any of the pre-trial detention centers on the territory of Dagestan. Investigative activities are underway."

The day before, in Makhachkala, relatives of the missing also held a rally - the police dispersed it .
