Viktor Kapitonov, detained on the evening of October 7 at the Presidential Administration building during a single picket in memory of the journalist Anna Politkovskaya, was hospitalized at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute. His hand fracture is diagnosed, due to displacement, an operation may be required.
Police officers damaged Kapitonov's hand when he led him to the car carrier. In the Department of Internal Affairs, Kitay-Gorod, where the activist was delivered, was refused to call an ambulance, this was done by Kapitonov’s friends, who was on duty at the police department only when he was released.
Before the exemption from Kapitonov, they demanded to sign an obligation to turn into the Tver court at 11 a.m. on October 18.
A protocol on a “repeated” violation during the picket was drawn up on the activist. In the document, police officers indicated that he participated in an inconsistent picket with another person. Meanwhile, Kapitonov himself and eyewitnesses of detention emphasize that he stood with a poster alone, conducting a single picket that does not require coordination. Indications are confirmed by video recording of detention. The punishment for the sane Kapitonov of the eighth part of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses is up to 300 thousand rubles, up to 200 hours of compulsory work or up to 30 days of arrest.
Viktor Kapitonov is an active participant in Moscow protests. Last time, the Tver court fined him for 250 thousand rubles for participating in reading the constitution near the State Duma building.
UPD. As lawyer Oleg Tznisco told the OVD-Info, on October 8, Kapitonov had an operation, most likely he will spend at least a week in the hospital
