Samsung asked to stop selling Galaxy Note 7

Samsung said it would ask "partners around the world" to stop selling and trading Galaxy Note 7 phones until an investigation into "recent incidents" involving the model is completed.

“Owners of both original and replacement Galaxy Note7s should turn off the device and stop using it,” the company said in a statement.

• Earlier it became known that Samsung again suspended production of Galaxy Note 7 phones. The decision, which was not officially announced, is presumably due to the emergence of new reports of spontaneous combustion of phones of this model.
• The flagship phone model Galaxy Note 7 was released by Samsung in August 2016. Soon, many phone owners reported that their devices exploded or caught fire. Samsung announced a recall of smartphones, citing a manufacturing defect in batteries as the preliminary cause of the incidents.
• At the end of September, replacement of Galaxy Note 7 phones began in some countries, and in October Samsung announced the resumption of sales. After this, reports appeared about spontaneous combustion of new, “safe” specimens.
