By 16:40 Moscow time, the December futures on Brent went up by 2.4% to $ 53.2 per barrel. In turn, WTI quotes rose by almost 3% to $ 51.3 per barrel.
On October 5, the cost of a barrel Brent exceeded $ 52 for the first time in four months. On October 7, the price of North Sea raw materials again dropped below the indicated mark.
World oil prices accelerated growth on October 10 after the performance of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the World Energy Congress in Istanbul. He stated that there was no reason to talk about the sunset of the era of hydrocarbons, and also indicated that the Russian Federation was ready to join the restriction of oil production, which countries included in the OPEC agreed on in September.
Against the background of the rise of oil quotes on the Moscow Exchange, the ruble exchange rate was strengthened. By 16:45 Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate dropped by 13 kopecks to 62.09 rubles, and the euro - 43 kopecks to 69.26 rubles. Later, the dollar rate for the first time since October last year fell below 62 rubles.
In addition, by 17:10 Moscow time, the MMEVB index rose above 2000 points, adding 1.1%, and the RTS updated the maximum from May 2015 - the indicator increased by 1.5% to 1017 points.
